Payday Loans On TV

I had written before about the cute adverts on TV for payday loans, and they are still there, but yesterday I had the TV on, well my partner did, daytime TV for me is boring, but I did note an interesting thing yesterday.

In the span of a few minutes, there were two back-to-back adverts for payday loans by two  different payday loan companies.  I just found that a bit odd, but in thinking about it, and believe me I did, maybe it wasn’t so odd.  There could be two back-to-back car sale commercials/adverts, or two for food shops, etc.

Then I got a bit too deep in my thought/logic pattern.....why should the ad during the day?  OK, it may be cheaper, but if someone sees the ad during the middle of the day, they may not be working, so they have no payday, and don’t qualify for a payday loan.

By viewing these two ads so close together, and also they were shown a few times during the course of the day, yes, I left the TV on in the background, it shows how popular these types of loans are becoming.  I am reading more and more about the rise in the number of people using payday loans, for whatever reason; as they are easy and quick to take out, or a person with poor credit can get the loan, the loans are on the rise.

And so are their ads on TV.

In addition, I have also noted more and more payday loan ads on web sites.  These are just the various google ads that pop up on various web sites.  

So unsure which came first, the ads or the rise in payday loan usage.
