Snow

The winter weather.

Snow

Snow, snow and more snow, that’s what we got the other night.  We went to bed cold and woke up with a white blanket on us, Mother Nature’s dandruff.....snow.

Personally, I like snow and have no issues with it.  I can drive in it with no problems as I have a vast amount of experience in doing do.  In part from living in parts of the world that received huge amounts of snow.  It’s the other guys I have to worry about, those who are afraid or cannot drive in the wet weather.

But I cannot write about snow, with looking at what it costs us, yes, what the snow costs us.

For the shops, it is a good thing as we all race to by milk, bread, toilet paper, etc to stock up in case we get ‘snowed in’ and cannot get out to buy these items.

So some stores shelves get bare and sell out of things.

But think about it, when was the last time we had weather so bad no shop was open and/or we could not get out??  I cannot think of a single time.

OK, once when I was living in America we got two (2) foot of snow overnight and it did basically shut the area down.

But that was it, and it was in another country.

For many we can be glad the snow came on a weekend as it did not hinder many people from getting to work.  If it snows and disrupts travel and transportation, or there is travel chaos, I love those words....travel chaos....then it costs businesses as workers cannot get to their jobs.

There also is the cost of snow removal and gritting and clearing the roadways and motorways.  This all adds up.

Flights get disrupted, people get stranded, etc, etc, etc.

So as you can see, a little bit of wet, white, frozen water, or snow, can cause quite a bit of fun for the kids, and headaches and be costly for others.
